Going on vacation can be a fun time but if you’re one of the thousands that get sick in the air, you’re not alone!  While there’s only so much you can do to prevent the air sickness, there are some remedies out that that can make the flight a little bit more enjoyable.

See your doctor ahead of time – Before you go on your next flight, go to your doctor and explain your symptoms.  Your doctor may have some special medications that can help you with your air sickness.  He/she may even have a cure that can prevent it altogether.  The best way to go is generally by a sleeping type pill.  If you’re knocked out, this will make the trip fly by.

Wear loose clothing – The lighter your clothes are around your stomach, the easier your stomach will feel.  If you have tight clothing strapped to your stomach, this may cause a slight pain when you stomach is getting upset.  This will only make the situation worse.  In today’s age, you don’t need to dress fancy to hop onto a plane, instead wear something loose such as jogging pants and a t-shirt.  No one will care what you look like on a plane, trust me.

Don’t over eat – Before you hop on the plane, try and eat as light as possible.  You won’t want to hop on with a full stomach of eggs and bacon.  Instead, eat something light so you’re not filled up.  This way, if you do get sick, you don’t throw up and use up the whole bag.  This will save everyone around you.  The more you stay away from the greasier foods, the better.

Avoid the bar – If you love drinking before flights, this may be your problem.  Drinking is not going to help your sickness.  In fact, it’s only going to make things worse.  Try and drink a little bit of water or ginger ale before you get on the flight.  The less liquids and food you have in your stomach, the better you’ll feel.

Bring saltines- Just in case you start to feel that dizziness or stomach ache come to you, bring some saltine crackers and ginger ale on the plane.  This is the best remedy if you’re feeling an upset stomach.  When you feel your stomach starting to turn, simply drink and eat a little bit of each and you’ll start to feel a little bit better.

Don’t let air sickness ruin your fun.  Everyone on this planet has some sort of problems but if you can find ways to reduce your sickness, it will only make your travelling more enjoyable.  Try some of the remedies mentioned above and see how they work out.  If none of the above mentioned tips work, I would consult with your doctor or find other alternate ways of travelling.

If you’ve been to Georgia before, have you passed up the wonderful city of Athens?  Most people assume that Athens is only based in Greece but Georgia indeed does have a city by that name.  Known for their golf courses and beautiful gardens, Athens is a great place if you’re a fan of the outdoors and one who loves to soak in the beautiful nature landscape.  If that sounds like something in your ballpark, Athens may be the place for you.  Here are the top three places I’ve found to be interesting.

State Botanical Garden of Georgia

If you love the outdoors and wandering through beautiful gardens, the botanical gardens of Georgia would be a great place to check out.  The garden is basically a “living laboratory” for college students from the University of Georgia.  This is a place where they can showcase some of their classwork.  Founded in 1968, the gardens stretch more than 300 acres, which borders the Oconee River.

University of Georgia Golf Course

Are you a fan of golf?  If so, you might want to head on over to the University of Georgia golf course.  Known for it’s beautiful scenery and greens, the University of Georgia golf course is highly recommended by casual golfers around the globe.  The value alone (around $30ish) is well worth the price of admission.  This golf course is opened to the public but be aware that there is a dress code enforce.

Double Barreled Cannon

If you’re a fan of the civil war era, you may want to check out the Double Barreled Cannon in downtown Athens.  I wouldn’t recommend you go out of your way to see this since it’s just a small attraction but if you’re in the downtown area, you may want to give it a look.  In 1862, John Gilleland designed the only known double barreled cannon known to man.

Downtown Athens, Georgia alone is worth the trip just to check out all of the sights, shops, and sounds.  If you’re a fan of shopping, I would recommend you take a look at the downtown itself.  It’s filled with fun antique shops, art museums, and so much more.   The next time you’re near or driving through Georgia, make sure you stop by.

Planning a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico soon and don’t know what hotels are the best for your money?  I did some research on the three best hotels in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Each hotel is unique in it’s own way on what they offer and how it looks.  The way we came up with our review was simply by looking at research online, taking guest services, location, and value into consideration.  Here’s the top three hotels in New Mexico.

Embassy Suites Hotel in Albuquerque

If you’re familiar with the Embassy Suites hotels, this is a chain you should definitely check out.  The Embassy Suites in New Mexico are relatively new and received nothing but 5 star reviews since they’ve opened their doors.  The hotel comes equipped with a wonderful view of the mountains, a spacious lobby, a convention center, and more.  What makes this hotel unique is that first class service for a very low price.

AmeriSuites at the Airport

If you’re looking for a place next to the airport or a place when you get off your plane, you may want to consider the AmeriSuites of Albuquerque.  Located in a quiet and attractive spot, this hotel chain offers many amenities such as big flat panel TVs in the lobby, spacious rooms, and A+ service.  If you’ve stayed at an AmeriSuites before, you may want to consider the short drive from the airport and try this location, you won’t be disappointed!

Homewood Suites at the New Mexico Airport

The AmeriSuites hotel is located near the airport and so is the Homewood Suites.  If the Amerisuites don’t cater to your needs, try out the Homewood Suites instead.   This hotel is a little different than the AmeriSuites.  It offers the same value with a five star staff but the difference in this hotel is that you’re able to have a room that’s quite similar to a smaller apartment.  The suites come equipped with bedrooms, a living space, kitchen, and more.  If you want more room, you may want to consider the Homewood Suites instead.

TIP:  If you’re looking to book any of these hotels, try out Priceline.  On Priceline, you’re able to bid on your hotel rooms and get a cheaper rate than the average traveller.  Be sure to pop in these hotel names to find the hotel you’re looking for.
