Whether you’re visited Baltimore, Maryland in the past or you plan on taking a trip in the very near future, you probably don’t know what’s worth seeing and what’s not.  Baltimore is a decent sized city and while there are a tons of things to do, I narrowed it down to my three favorites.  All three attractions have something for everyone whether you’re travelling with family or even by yourself.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards

If you’re a baseball fan, catching a game at Camden Yards is a must.  Built in 1992, Camden Yards is minutes away from downtown and from attractions like Babe Ruth’s birthplace.  Even if you’re not a baseball fan, it’s a fun place to take the family just to see the attractions, the field, and the places you can eat.  Tickets are relatively cheap if you sit in the outfield.  If you can, try and buy your tickets from the box office the day of the game to avoid any necessary Ticketmaster fees.

Fort McHenry National Monument

If you’re a fan of history or like state parks, many travellers have noted that the Fort McHenry Monument is one of the best attractions in Baltimore.  Getting on the park grounds is free but if you’d like to attend the monument, it’s going to cost extra.  At the monument, you’ll be able to learn information from wars such as the Civil, War of 1812,  the world wars, and many other historical events.  Even if you’re not a history buff, the grounds are well worth checking out!

Maryland Historical Society

If you’re a fan of history, especially Maryland history, you may want to take a trip to the Historical Society.  The Maryland Historical Society features of 200,000 items that have a story behind them.  From local history to worldwide history, the society is a great place to spend a lazy afternoon or to beat the cold or heat.

Baltimore, Maryland has a ton of attractions and these three don’t even serve justice.  It’s almost next to impossible to spend a weekend and see all of the city.  From art musuems to parks, the city really does have it all!

If you plan on travelling to Akron, Ohio soon or know of someone that lives there, you may not know of some of the great attractions that are nearby that are worth checking out.  I conducted a survey of the area and here are my top three attractions in Akron, Ohio.

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

If you’re a fan of the outdoors, the Stan Hywet Hall and Garden may be the place for you.  The Hall and Garden feature a few places such as the The Manor House, The Gardens, The Lodge, The Conservatory, and much more.   Places like the Gardens allow you tour over 1,000 acres or natural surroundings.  Not only that, you can soak in the historical information as you view the whole landscape architecture that was created in the early 1900s.

Akron Zoo

Whether you’re animal fan or you’re just a fan or learning about animals and their surrounds, the Akron Zoo may be a great place to either visit with your family or your children.  Set on 50 acres, the Akron Zoo will allow you to come face to face with more than 700 animals.  Animals you’ll see are the Penguins, Jaguars, Komodo Dragons, and many more.  The zoo is located just west of Akron.

Akron Art Museum

Attention all art lovers.  If you love going ot art musuems and exploring all the arts and displays, the Akron Art Museum is a must see while you’re there.  The Akron Art Museum opened up it’s doors in 1922.  Since 1922, the Museum has nearly tripled it’s size to where it is today.  With a library filled with more than 11,000 books and different displays every weekend, the Art Museum has received nothing more than positive reviews.  The museum will ask that you follow their guidelines so that there are no problems that occur.

Akron, Ohio is filled with many great attractions besides the top three I mentioned above.  Whether you’re travelling through or you’re planning a visit because of pure pleasure or relatives, make sure you take the time to visit one of the wonderful attractions mentioned above.
