The next time you’re headed toward North Carolina, you may want to keep a small city by the name of Boone in your head.  If you haven’t heard of this city before, it may be one that you will want to add to your list of things to do when you’re headed to the east coast.  From museums to just plain sight seeing, you’ll be able to experience a lot here!

Appalachian Cultural Museum

The Appalachian Cultural Museum is part of the Appalachian State University.  Here, you’re going to understand the culture of the people in the Appalachian mountains.  From exhibits to special events, you’ll want to check out this museum if you’re a fan of any type of culture and want to learn more.  Be sure to check out the website to see if there will be any events going on when you attend the Boone area.

Horn in the West

If you love anything Theatre, you’re going to want to check ou the Horn in the West.  Since 1952, the Horn in the West has been entertaining people of all ages.  The show you’ll find here is all about the legendary Daniel Boone.  Since the show is usually held outdoors, you’re going to want to check out the weather ahead of time, just to make sure you don’t need a coat or blanket.  Check the shows website for times.

Moses Cone Manor

The Moses Cone Manor is a 3,600 acre park managed by the National Park Service.  If the outdoors is what you enjoy, this is a place you’ll want to visit just to see the scenery alone!  Some of the features you will find here are attractions such as the historic mansion that was built and owned by Moses Cone.  Besides the mansion, you’ll also find a nice and relaxing atmosphere.  If you’re looking for peace, this is the place.

With a city as big as Baltimore, it’s hard for tourists and visitors to find the best hotel, seeing there are literally hundreds in the area.  With the power of the Internet, there are review sites out there that will give out reviews on the hotels that you’re looking at.  The reviews are typically left by other travellers like you.  I did some research on the hotels out there and found out the top three you should consider when you’re going to be in the Baltimore, Maryland area.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor

If you haven’t stayed at Homewood Suites before, you’re really missing out when you go on your vacations.  Any Homewood Suites room is just like home but smaller.  From the small kitchenette to the spacious living room, you’ll want to keep coming back to this hotel chain, once you realize how nice they are for the money.  This Baltimore chain is located near the heart of Baltimore.  It’s only a few miles from Camden Yards and the National Aquarium.  If you’re looking for a great location, consider this hotel chain.

Residence Inn by Marriott White Marsh

This Marriott chain is located in Nottingham,  Maryland, just outside Baltimore.  This Residence Inn will make you feel as if you never left home.  With small kitchens that feature dishwashers, garbage disposal, and microwaves, you won’t have to eat out if you stay here.  This place is ideal if you have a small family.  Not only will you not have to go out to eat, if you don’t like to do that because of cost, you’ll also get a complimentary breakfast every morning!

Baltimore Hilton

If an upscale hotel is what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed with any of the Hilton chains.  The Baltimore Hilton is linked to the Baltimore Convention Center via a skywalk.  If you’re planning on attending an event there, I highly recommend you check out this hotel, just for the location factor.  This hotel features a heated indoor pool, a business center, and flat screen TVs.

Bloomington, Indiana may not seem like the biggest tourist spot in the United States but if you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for a place to stay.  Bloomington like other cities in the United States have a handful of hotels to stay at and when hotel choosing can be hard, I came up with a list of the top three hotels in Bloomington based on customer satisfaction according to some websites.

Courtyard by Marriott Bloomington

If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay, consider the Courtyard by Marriott.  If you haven’t stayed at a Marriott before, I’ll give you a little inside on what you’re going to get.  At this particular Marriott, you’re going ot receive breakfast, a pool, a business center, and more!  This Marriott is located two blocks from Bloomington Town Square and only six blocks from Indiana University.

Radisson Bloomington Indiana

Radisson’s are known for having some of the best five star serviced hotels for a very reasonable price.  There’s no diffence for this Bloomington hotel as well.  Here, you’re going to be a half mile from Indiana Univeristy.  Not only are you going to be within a decent distance of some attractions, you’ll also be staying in a room that was remodeled in 2007, so the whole hotel has a very new touch to it.

A Summerhouse Inn

This two story inn based hotel may not look like the nicest hotel on the outside but it’s actually not that bad of a stay according to some visitors.  Located about 2 miles from Indiana University and the city center, the summerhouse inn is a great place to consider if you’re looking for a very reasonable rate.  If you’re looking for a place that treats you with five star service, consider this hotel.

Do you live in the Blacksburg area?  Do you plan on making a trip there and you’re curious on what there is to eat there?  Blacksburg may seem small at first with no where to go to eat but there are a few places that people like you and I find ourselves to enjoy and tell others.  Upon looking at some review based websites online, I found the top three restaurants in Blacksburg that you should check out.

Macado’s

If you’re looking for a child friendly place that offers a great variety of food with low prices, give Macado’s a shot.  Here, you’re going to find everything from sandwiches on a great variety of bread to bagels.  This cafe type atmosphere will make you craving more once you leave.  After visiting a few review sites, I found this place to be a big favorite among the locals.  The next time you’re in Blacksburg, give Macado’s a taste.

Poor Billy’s Seafood Restaurant

Any seafood lover must give Poor Billy’s a stop.  No matter what kind of seafood you like, you’ll have to give this place a shot.  From great sushi to bacon wrapped scallops, this place is nearly packed every night you step foot into the restuarant.  Do the research online and you’ll find that this is the place that most seafood lover’s recommend in teh Blacksburg area.

The Gobbler

The Gobbler was voted Blackburg’s favorite pizza two years in a row.  With a customizable buffet, you’ll only be finding yourself pay $6.99 at dinner time for this great deal.  This is better than any fast food chain and the quality of the food is ten times better!  From live music to pool to the big screen TVs, you’ll not only get great pizza, you’ll also get great entertainment!

If you find yourself in the Amarillo, Texas are in the near future, there are a few things that you should definitely check out if you plan on staying for a while.  From museums to parks, Texas has all kinds of attractions that keep both you and your family entertained for days.  I did a little research on some review sites and came up with my own top three list that may help you find things to do in and around Amarillo.

Cadillac Ranch

This attraction may seem odd at first and I’m sure if you’ve watched movies or tourist shows about Texas, I’m sure you’ve seen this attraction.  The Cadillac Ranch is a roadside attraction that features 10 Cadillacs upside down buried nose first into the ground.  The admission is free and visitors are encouraged.  Make sure you bring your own spray paint so you can contribute to the art!

Wonderland Park

Whether you have a family or you’re just visitng with your significant other, be sure to stop by Wonderland Park, especially if you’re a fan of amusement parks.  Here, you’re going to find roller coasters, water slides, and rides for kids of younger ages.  Created more than 50 years ago, Wonderland Park’s mission was to create an exciting and reasonably priced place for kids.  At Wonderland Park, you can purchase ride tickets for as little as a $1.50.

Route 66 District

I’m sure you’ve heard of the famous Route 66.  Here, you travel a mile stretch of road that features everything from shops to restaurants.  Here at the Route 66 District, this is one of the only places that you can really get out and walk around.  If you’re looking for a little place to walk around to eat and shop, head on over to this district.  You can easily pass up a few hours!
