5 Cheap Ways to Travel Around a Big City

Vacations are a great way to spend time doing what you enjoy, exploring new areas, and are a great way to get away from our hometown. If you’re looking to take a trip to a big city, there are several different ways to save money when exploring. So, the next time you go to New York, Chicago, etc consider a few of these tips!

Subway – Subways are great, can get you where you want to be, and are very affordable. Consider getting a pass for as long as you’re going to be there. They have day passes, week passes, 5 day passes, etc.
University Shuttles – These are usually ways free. What a great thing, free transportation! These shuttles will often have the same routes. They tend to go from major tourist destinations, and other transportation hubs.
Hotel shuttle – If you’re lucky, and did your research, you will notice that your hotel may take you around the city for free. Booking certain hotels will have certain advantages, and free shuttle service may be one of them!
Walk – Depending on where your hotel is, you can usually walk almost everywhere. The great thing about big cities is that it’s all in one area, and there is so much to see. Therefore, you can see a whole lot when walking just a few blocks!
Airport shuttles – There are also usually airport shuttles. They may not always be free, but they can take you where you need to go for usually a cheap price, and you can guarantee that they’ll be cheaper than a taxi cab.
Traveling around a big city is definitely exciting. You will find that there is so much to see in such a small area. Traveling around the city doesn’t always have to be expensive, in fact it can be free. Try to plan your trip ahead of time, and know where you want to go. This can help you choose what hotel you want to stay at (location wise), and it can save you a lot of money transportation wise.
