If you’re an avid traveller and you don’t have an airline miles based credit card yet, I’m going to show you why you should get one today, so that you can start to save up enough points to potentially get a free airline ticket and more.

Airline miles cards in my opinion are one of the best cards on the market when it comes down to rewards and travel.  The reason I like these cards so much is because you can save more on more than just your airline tickets.  You can get personalized discounts with car rental companies, hotels, and more.  It will all depend on what carrier you apply through.

You’ll find that every airline that you fly, they will have some sort of frequent flyer program that is tied in with their credit card.  Every time you spend a dollar on your credit card, you’re going to get miles deposited into your frequent flyer account.  The point system works differently with many of the programs out there.

For example, let’s say that you fly Delta airlines a lot, and you sign up with their credit card.  For every dollar you spend through Delta purchases, they will give you 6 miles.  If you spend it outside of  Delta purchases, you’re only going to get one.  As I mentioned above, these are all going to vary with the airline you choose.

Get exclusive rewards:  Some airlines love it when you’re loyal and you sign up for their credit card.  In return, they will send you exclusive offers and sometimes, you can even get your shot at getting free upgrades.  This will all depend on how much you use the card.

Get more than airline rewards:  If you don’t want that airline ticket, you can turn it in for other things such as free hotel rooms, car rentals, and more.  This again, will depend on the card carrier you choose.
