People often travel to different places using airlines as their mode of transportation. The airlines well known for a transportation tool is also known for their capability to do many other forms of transportation besides people but including people. The Postal Service often uses airlines to get the mail delivered in a quick and orderly way as an example of transportation or traveling. Many times people will send their pets via airlines knowing that they will arrive quickly and safely.

Airlines are used by major business’s to carry heavy duty equipment and major supplies into areas that are hard to reach or would take to long of time if taken over land. Airlines are well known as a major means of transport for special delivery companies. This is one of the ways that airlines are able to make money besides that of passengers going to places. Exotic things are taken by airlines in order to make sure that they arrive safely and that the general public is not put into any harm’s way. We are speaking of things like dangerous animals or poisonous plants. The scientific community also uses airlines to transport equipment and experiments in a safe manner.

Many times airlines are used by funeral directors in order to transport bodies across country to the appropriate place for burial. Families need at times to have their loved one’s brought home from a far away destination and airlines readily stand by to help in these situations.  A group of pilots called “Angels of Mercy” also stand by to pick up people in an emergency and transport them to hospitals that are able to care for them. These gallant pilots fly under emergency circumstances and sometimes even dangerous ones to help those who are badly injured near death. “Angels of Mercy” are professional pilots who normally donate their time to help those who are badly burned, injured, or otherwise near death.

Airlines have converted their passenger flights into water tankers in order to help put out forest fires to save lives and property. This may seem like an unusual thing to carry but when there are not enough planes that are equipped to do this it becomes necessary to call on pilots and airlines to help. Airlines have carried medicines in war zones, medications to out of the way places, food to areas in famine, and often they have done this voluntarily without compensation. The next time you take your flight perhaps you might envision what your airline has done to help us all live a better life.
