Whether you’re about to travel or you know of someone that’s coming to visit, it’s important to know if your flight or another flight is going to be delayed.  Thankfully with the Internet, you’ll be able to tell if a flight is going to be delayed.  I whipped up a few websites that you should check out when you’re looking to see if there is a flight delayed.    Don’t waste your time calling because you’ll just find yourself on hold for a long time.

FAA.GOV - The FAA is by far the most informative website that you can use when it comes to delays.  You’ll be able to get up to minute stats and if a flight is delayed.  The website is fairly easy to use.  Click on an airport that you want to look at and the FAA will tell you if the airport is experiencing delays and if they are, it will tell you for how long.

FlightStats.com -FlightStats is by far, one of the best websites online.  You can get everything from airport delays to tracking down an airplane while it’s in flight.  The cool thing about this site is that you’re able to track down delays at any given airport.  On top of that, you can also view the locations of the airport alongside of a weather radar.  It will show you where the storms are headed and if your airport may be in danger of a delay.

These are by far the two most important sites that you can use when you’re looking for delays.  If you want more information on delays, you can always call up the airline direct but when the weather is bad, you may find yourself on hold for quite a long time.

Delays happen every day and even if it’s a nice day out and the weather is great, there can be delays for the oddest reasons.  I would always make it a habit to check out your flights before you head down to the airport.
