With the recent economy situation and airlines cutting back, you may have found that your favorite airline is now charging exta fees for you to bring your luggage onto the flight. What used to be free will now cost you a few extra bucks per trip. I’m going to show you today on how you can save on airline luggage fees the easy way.
Research the airline – If you’re not loyal to an airline, check and see what all of the airlines charge. Southwest for example won’t charge for two bags. Other airlines might charge for one bag. Make sure you look at all the airlines fees before you book your flight.
Cut back on the luggage – If you’re a fan of brining twenty bags on your trip, try and condense your luggage to one bag. Most airlines don’t charge for more than one bag. If you bring one bag, the chances of you being charged for that one bag is fairly slim.
Check out the discounts – When you book your ticket with the airline, there may be certain discounts you can apply for. For example, some airlines will allow you to save money if you request an e-ticket compared to if you want an actual ticket. Most airlines are encouraging people to make their reservations online with an e-ticket. See what kind of discounts you’re eligible for when you buy your ticket.
Watch the weight – Just because you’re bringing one bag to the airline, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to avoid the fees. If your bag is over fifty pounds, you’re probably going to get charged for that bag. Make sure that your bag doesn’t weight a ton and see what the weight restrictions are when you book your flight.
Airline fees are usually pretty hard to haggle. If you have more than one bag, you’re probably going to pay. This fee will generally range anywhere from five dollars and on all depending on what airline you fly. Make sure you do your research when you book your next flight to make sure you to receive the best deal possible.
