Recently, I wrote a post about hand held steamers and how they are great when you’re ready to travel. Well, today I thought I would write about the best travel compact irons on the market today. While steamers can get the job done, some people prefer to have an iron do the job and I don’t blame you!
When you’re thinking about making a purchase for a compact iron, I wanted to showcase what I thought were the top 4 on the market today. Surprisingly, many of them are only going to run you around $25 or so.
#1 SteamFast SF-717 (around $20): This home away from home iron is going to get the job done when you can’t count on your hotel or the place you’re staying at to have an iron. It’s equipped with 420 watts, it holds up to 1 2/5 ounces of water, and it’s non-stick soleplate makes it very ideal for traveling.
#2 Black and Decker Travel Pro (around $30): This lightweight travel branded iron is ideal for those that want a lot of power. You can either run it on 120 or 240 volts of power. The removable water reservoir makes it very easy to fill, as well as empty the water.
#3 Rowenta DA1560 (around $40): If you want to spend more money, you’re going to find that this model has high reviews and I can see why. Not only are you going to get quality, you’re going to get something that’s going to last a long time. Equipped with 1000 watts of power, this has to be one of the strongest ones on the market today.
#4 Smartek Travel Iron (around $20): The last one on my list is this Smartek brand. It’s going to run you around $20. It can blast between 600 and 800 watts. While its not the most popular brand out there, it should be able to get the job done for you.
If you do a lot of travel, I would recommend a travel iron. They are compact, light, and should fit easily in your luggage. If you’re only going to travel once or twice a year, you may just want to rely on your hotel room, but you have to remember that not all hotel rooms have an iron.
