The year is halfway over, and that still means that there are a few months left for you, and your family to travel. When it comes to travelling, there are some tips that you should know about in order to save money, and save yourself from stressing out.
Consider going old school: When booking your new trip, consider going to a travel agent to see what they can do for you. A lot of the times, you may find that they can beat an online person.
Rent a car away from the airport: Renting a car at the airport is going to be expensive, so try getting a car outside of the airport. A lot of the times you may find that you can save 30% on your bill. If you have to, you can grab a taxi cab.
Load up the hotel points: If you have a hotel credit card, consider buying your food, and room service on your credit card bill so that your points load up. The more points, the more you’ll get closer to a free room!
Check in early online: All major airlines let you check in early, and if you can check in 24 hours before your flight, you’ll be able to grab different seats, as well as prepay for your checked in luggage. This is going to save a lot of stress as well.
Consider your carry on bags: With so many airlines charging you to check in your baggage at the gate, you may want to carry on your bags instead. For two people, you can save as much as $60.
Try a vacation package: If you need to book a flight, rent a car, and stay in a hotel, you may want to consider a package instead. This alone can save you a few hundred dollars.
Take advantage of credit cards: If you travel a lot, or you stay in a lot of hotels, you may want to consider reward credit cards. Get rewarded for your stays, and earn free nights!
Break down your wallet: Instead of bringing 12 credit cards, and $2,000 in cash, you may want to consider one credit card, and next to cash since your cards will work in replacement of your cash.
Consider hotel kids menus: Hotels have kids menus and if you order room service and get the kid’s food, you can pay half the price, and get almost the same dish!
Just be nice: Being nice can get you far. From being nice on the airplane, to being nice to the flight attendant, and those at a hotel. Always treat others as you want to be treated, it will go far!
