Common Airline Ticketing Errors
posted by FindAirlineCards.comLet’s face it, no matter where or what you do in this world, you’ll always run into mistakes but the true question to ask yourself is, “Are these mistakes based on my actions or the companies?” While most of the times, you want to blame it on the company, sometimes you just have to take the blame on yourself. It’s no different when you book an airline ticket and there are a few things you should be aware of before you send in your money.
Watch your name – The most common error among passengers when it comes to airline tickets is putting in the wrong name. Believe it or not, if you miss a few letters on your name, the airline might not let you go through. Since 9/11, airlines have been very stict when it comes to boarding and having your ticket match your ID. Make sure you look over your name at least twice before you book your flight when you’re booking online. If you don’t, you may find yourself paying the airline up to $100 just to change your name!
Not watching the ciities – With the internet becoming a very popular place to purchase airline tickets, you have to watch out on how you book your ticket. Some people make the mistake of putting the desintation as their airport they want to leave from. If you do this, you’re going to be out your ticket probably becuase it’s usually pretty hard to get a refund from places such as Orbitz.
Wrong date on flight – Just as I mentioned above, the internet is a very popular place to buy tickets. Some people generally are just in too big of a hurry to double check on how they booked their flight. Some people book too late while others book it too early and when they show up at the airport, they find that their flight isn’t til another time.
There are many mistakes you can make when you purchase your airline ticket. The most important part to remember is that you book your flights patiently and make sure you look over your order confirmation at least twice before hitting the submit button. This extra five minutes of glancing over your work can save you a load of time and money in the future.
