Finding a Senior Citizen Companion
posted by FindAirlineCards.comAs a senior citizen, life can be tough if you don’t have anyone to hang around all day, especially if you like to travel. Travelling can be fun for so long when you travel solo but it can be even better when you have a companion. Finding a senior companion isn’t that hard, it jut takes action and a little bit of work. Here’s how you start.
Check out your senior centers – The first thing you want to do is check out your local yellow pages. See if there are any senior centers around. If you already know of one, great! A senior center is a great place to interact and meet with people that share the same interests. Check out a local center near you to see what they have to offer.
Try websites – Websites like FriendFinder allow you to meet up with people in your area. The nice thing about this website is that you’re able to search for people in your age bracket near your zip code. If you even want to be advanced, try narrowing it down to interests, you’ll be surprised at what you find. Check out FriendFinder or do searches for other related websites.
The AARP - Websites like the AARP have forums where you can meet up with others and post messages. From there, you can either e-mail back and forth or call each other, whatever you would choose.
Chamber of Commerce- Most cities offer monthly trips that are dedicated to every age range. Try checking out your local chamber of commerce for upcoming schedules. Trips range anywhere from taking a road trip to a casino all the way to a seven day cruise of some sort.
Finding a companion or group to travel with isn’t that hard, it just requires a little action and dedication. Like anything in life and i”m sure you know by now, if you want something, you have to work hard at it. If you put your heart into finding a perfect travel companion, you could possibly have someone in mind next week!
