If you’re like me, and you’re on the road a lot, and you need to send out e-mails, you’re going to find that sometimes, your phone, laptop, or desktop isn’t going to send those e-mails that you have to send through.  So, what do you do when you have to worry about sending an e-mail, and it may not go through?

What is SMTP?

SMTP stands for “simple mail transfer protocol”.  This is the Internet standard for e-mail transmissions across the Internets networks.  In other words, its how e-mail gets around.

Try online virtual servers - Sites like SMTP2Go are great if you’re looking to send your e-mail from anywhere, and never have to worry about a problem.  With servers like this, you will store your settings, and you will then be able to access your e-mail from anywhere around the globe.

Try an alternative - When using SMTP, it can get frustrating, I know, but if you have to send out e-mails, try signing up for free services like Gmail, or Yahoo! Mail.  Yes, you can send out from them, and I know you may not want more than one e-mail account, but this can be a great backup plan if your first e-mail server isn’t working.  You can always (most likely) rely on sites like this for getting your e-mails sent out.

These are 2 great steps that you can take when you want your e-mail to go through all the time.  Now, it may not work all the time, but you can rely on virtual servers to work 99% of the time, and are well worth the money.  So, if you’re looking for a SMTP virtual server for travel, this is the way to go.
