Cruise lines are filled with tons of job opportunities. Whether you want to be a bartender, maid, or even a janitor, there are countless opportunities for you to work on a cruise liner. So, how can you find a job on a cruise line? It’s really not as hard as you think.
Check out the top 5 liners: There are many cruise liners out there. Liners such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, and more all have career pages listed right on their website. Hop on their site, and see what kind of openings they have. You will want to make sure that you apply for a job that meets your requirements. Don’t waste the recruiters time, when it comes down to sending in a resume.
Use the basic search engines: Use searches such as Beyond, and others online. See which cruise lines are hiring, as well as what’s available in your area. What you’re going to find out is that many cruise liners will have career fairs that you can attend. If you’re serious about a job with the liner, you may have to travel out of state to snag the job.
Look around port areas: Since you will most likely have to live near a cruise line port, you may want to consider moving to an area that have the big cruise lines. Places such as Florida, and others have ports all over the place. Yes, you’ll be on the water most of the time, but it will increase your chances on getting the job, if you live near the port to show up for work.
I know you’re not going to get a lot of information straight from this blog post, but I also consider some books that can be found on Amazon such as How to Get a Job with a Cruise Line, and others. Like any other job, you’re going to have to work hard at it. Do your homework, find that job, and apply for it!
