Did you know as a student you can get discounted airline tickets?   Every year students save money on their airline travel.  Even though many college students don’t travel via the air that often, it’s still nice to save money on your airline tickets.  Getting your student discount isn’t hard and I’ll show you exactly how you can receive one.

The first thing you’ll want to do is do a search on websites that are dedicated to helping students find discounted airfare.  Here are a few that can students discounts –

STA Travel – STA Travel is one of the greatest student airfare sources.  They have a great airline search engine and weekly deals.  A lot of students will simply sign up for the newsletter and see what kind of deals pop up.  You’ll be surprised at what kind of deals you can get.

Priceline – I’m sure you’ve heard of this website before and even though they don’t offer as much as STA Travel, they do offer a fair amount of student discounts.  Remember, most sites will want you to be between the ages of 12-26 and attending either a high school or an accredited college.

Travelocity- Travelocity just like Priceline also offers student rates but not as many as STA Travel.  If you’re looking for more options or particular deals, it doesn’t hurt to check more than one website.  Every website generally runs it’s own deals and you may find something that fits your needs.

The best way to find a discounted student flight ticket is by checking the websites mentioned above but there are other ways to save on travel as well.  Did you know that companies offer student ID cards that offer discounts on particular items?  Like a AAA card, you’ll be able to use this card as long as you’re a student and you’ll be able to save money.  I’ll show you a few services that offer this –

ISIC Card – The ISIC card aka International Student Indentity Card is one of the most popular student discount cards on the market.  This card as I mentioned above works like a AAA card.  You will be able to use it at particular businesses and you’ll be able to save a certain percentage.  Airlines for example will accept this card and give you a student discount.
