How to Avoid Getting your Luggage Lost
posted by FindAirlineCards.comWhen we’re flying somewhere, and we’re taking a plane to get there, there is always one worry we have. When we get to the airport, we drop off our luggage, with all our important belongings, the belongings we need on our trip, and we leave them with the employees at the airport. We always hear from others, how their luggage was lost at the airport, and it never returned to them in baggage claim. This is something everyone fears will happen to them. It is a nightmare to think about, can ruin your whole trip, and can definitely be a huge inconvenience. So, how can we feel safe, and secure when we’re on the plane, and/or handing it away? There are a few things we can do to make sure we’ll get off the plane with our luggage waiting for us.
Write it down – It is always a good idea to write down all your important information. Get a tag, and a small piece of paper and be sure to write down your name, your address, the plane you’re taking, and the date. This is very helpful information to the employees at the airport, and if your luggage does get lost, they will definitely be able to send it back to you. Without this information, how can they tell if it’s yours or someone elses?
Get non-stop – When luggage gets lost, its usually when people get don’t have non-stop flights. For example, if you’re going somewhere, and you have to stop at another place before your final destination. This sometimes can get messy when the employees are moving the luggage from plane to plane.
Helpful tip: It is a good idea to bring all your very important, expensive items, and items you can’t go without, on the plane with you in a carry on bag. If you have with these, you’ll at least have the most important items with you for sure.
Going on vacation is supposed to be fun, so if you’re afraid of running into this problem when you’re taking off, consider some of these tips listed above. Loosing luggage doesn’t happen to everyone, but who knows if it will be you next, and if it is you, you want to be prepared for it to happen!
