A lot of us love to travel by plane but there is only one problem, it is usually pretty expensive. Flying by plane is a great way to get somewhere fast, easy, yet not always cheap. If you’re looking to take a vacation in the near future, and you know you want to or have to fly to get there, there are a few things to keep in mind to make your airline expenses even cheaper.
Days to fly – There are always certain days that are cheaper. You will usually want to avoid the weekends for flying. These days can be pretty costly compared to weekdays. Days like Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are usually the cheapest. So, if you can, choose weekdays you can easily save up to $100.
When to fly – Time is another important thing to look at if you want the cheapest flight possible. People often like times that are convenient. Although, what it really boils down to is sleep or a cheaper ticket? Choose times like midnight, early mornings and not the most convenient time like 5 in the afternoon when everyone gets out of work.
Don’t wait until the last minute – Never wait until the last minute when you buy plane tickets. Waiting until the last minute can easily add hundreds of dollars to your price. Instead, plan ahead early if you can and book as early as you can. A good couple months is usually safe for getting cheaper plane tickets.
Airport costs – Also, another thing to look at that also adds to your total bill is parking at the airport. Parking at the airport is very expensive and it is a good idea to get someone to drop you off. Airports usually charge you day by day for high prices, so to avoid spending even more money, get a ride there and back.
Where to fly – If you’re looking to take a vacation but you’re not sure where, find some place cheap. Places like Las Vegas, and places near you will be the cheapest. Where you fly places a major role in how much your ticket is going to cost.
There are a few different things to keep in mind if you want to fly for a cheap price. Airline tickets aren’t cheap so if there is any deal out there to save money, I say take it! A good place to start is by considering these tips above for your next airline trip.
