How to Get Cheap Rental Car Rates
posted by FindAirlineCards.comWhen we fly somewhere for vacation we most likely need a rental car unless we’re visiting a large city. Rental car companies can charge an arm and a leg depending on which kind of car you’re getting, how long you’re going to use it and where you’re using it. Although, there are tricks and tips you can use to help you get a cheaper rate. If you’re looking to save money on a rental car during your vacation, take our money saving advice.
How to Get Cheap Rental Car Rates:
Travelzoo: Have you ever heard of Travelzoo? If not, it’s a great website that makes finding deals for vacations very easy. Each week they have a top 20 list and these are the top 20 deals for the week. More than likely they will have deals on car rentals. I would continue to check this website out each week if you’re planning on taking a trip in the near future.
Priceline: Priceline is great for so many things. The “name your own price” is where you can really save some big money. Go to car rentals, and cut the average price in half or a little less and bid on that. You will either get accepted or denied, if you get denied keep trying back to get a good deal!
Entertainment book: Do you have the Entertainment book? If so, check in the back of the book in the travel section. They have a lot of the major car rental companies in there and offer discounts. Don’t have the Entertainment book and want one? Get one here!
Avoid the unnecessary: Car rental companies love to try and get more money out of you. They want you to get the top of the line insurance for the vehicle (when most people have coverage through their credit card) and they also want you to upgrade your package. Avoid all this unnecessary stuff and keep it bare bones to get the cheapest rate.
As you can see, there are a few different things you can do to help you get a cheap car rental rate. To get started, consider a few of these tips above!
