Senior discountsWhether you’re over the age of 55, or you’re going to hit that age someday (let’s hope).  Did you know that you can save money on your travelling just because you’re a senior citizen?  We all know that you can get discounts at McDonald’s, the AARP, and so much more, but many seniors pass over the chance of getting a discount on their travelling ventures.  Let me show you how it can be done.

Purchase a Senior Pass – There are so many places that you can go when you’re looking to purchase a senior pass.  Some of these places include the National Park Services, Fish Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Services, and many more.  When you’re looking to get a pass, simply bring your driver’s license, or some sort of proof, and you can get a discount.

But wait, there’s more! When you sign up for these forest passes, or such, you want to make sure that you continue to get the benefits.  You’re going to find that these passes get you into the establishments, or parks, but you’ll soon find out that you’ll have to pay for camping, boats, and more.  This is where you can get a discount again.  Many of these parks will offer their seniors an additional 50% off on their purchases inside the park.

Check with hotels - If you plan on taking a road trip, check with a few hotel chains ahead of time to see if they offer a senior discount.  Places like Marriott will offer 15% to seniors if you book online.  Places like that will allow you to save at more than 2,000 locations.  Be sure to check on Marriott’s website for more information.

These are the three routes that I would take today if you’re looking to get a discount as a senior citizen.  Try your luck with these, and see how much you can save!
