If you’re planning a trip anytime soon, you may want to pack light so that you can bring your luggage on the plane. With so many airlines charging now for checked-in luggage, a lot of people are resorting to taking bags on the plane to avoid these fees. Here are some tips that you can use in order to pack as light as possible:
Limit your outfits – Try and limit your outfits to one a day. There’s no reason to pack three outfits a day. You’ll only need your daytime outfit and some pajamas. The worst case scenario is that you wear your pajamas more than one night and same can go with your pants. If you wear your jeans twice during a week, this saves on one less pair to pack.
Pack the bare essentials – When it comes to packing for the bathroom, make sure that you pack the bare essentials. Bring small travel sized items like toothpaste, your toothbrush, mouthwash, etc. If you’re staying at a hotel, they will most likely have soap and shampoo and I would just use that for a few days. The more you don’t pack, the more you save in room!
Bring a carry-on bag – If you’re not going to bring a carry-on bag, I would advise you bring something small. In this bag, I would cram as much as you couldn’t into your full-sized luggage. Pack things like snacks, entertainment and more. Most airlines today don’t charge for a carry-on bag.
Look over your bag – If you’re finding that you can’t shut the luggage at the end of the day, look at everything in there and ask yourself if you truly need it. If you don’t think you’re going to need it then ditch it. Other than that, you just have to remember that you’re going to be gone for only a few days and you’ll come home eventually.
When it comes to packing, it really isn’t that hard. If you pack what you’re going to use, you shouldn’t have a problem. Try and avoid bringing more than one check in luggage per person to save on the price. As I already mentioned, many airlines are charging a fee and I’m sure you don’t want to pay it.
