Traveling by air is highly over rated by all the commercials and pumped up advertising put on by the marketing department in order to sell tickets. The simple truth is that a seat is a seat and a mode of transportation is basically what we are all looking for when we need to go from one place to another that has distance. The airline is not the only mode of transportation that is highly over rated in the public media. People who go by bus or train find that all the pleasures that are promised normally are none existence. The truth is that you wait in a designated waiting area until your next connection arrives no matter how long it may take. You may take along one piece of luggage but you will need to check any other pieces of baggage that you have because of lack of space on the airline, bus or train that you are using for more than one piece of luggage. Then you will need to go to the turn style in order to pick up your luggage when you arrive. The averages of losing your luggage are about the same rate no matter which way you decide to travel.

Airlines do their best to make sure that your baggage travels with you in the cargo section of the plane but just like any other mode of transportation there are problems at times with handling your luggage. Just as there are at times with your schedule you may find that you have a lay over which might last for a few hours or it could last over night. The airlines are very accommodating in the fact that if you are having a layover because of flight delays they will book a motel room for you and often they pay for your room and your meals. This is one of the nicest perks that any form of transportation could offer their customers.   Airlines are the ones who started this courtesy for their passengers and even today they continue to help those who are stranded whenever possible.

We might feel that those commercials they show luxury seating, a pretty stewardess, and other perks are misleading remember that airlines are not the only ones that exaggerate on services provided. Even though flying might be over rated when you see their commercials it is still the best and quickest method of travel.
