When travelling, it’s always nice to stay at a hotel as close as you can to the airport you’re leaving from.  There are a few perks to this, one being that you don’t have to wake up as early and fight traffic and the other is that most hotels near the airport will let you park there for free for the length of your trip, which is a huge plus.  If already didn’t know, airport parking can be expensive.  Depending on the city you’re from, it can range from any dollar range ($10 is the average per day).  Now, that we know the perks, let’s look at how we can get a hotel near your airport.

Check the airport website – All airports have a website and if you simply go to the airport’s website, you’ll most likely find an airport nearby.  In fact, most major airports have a hotel that’s adjoined with the airport.  This would mean that you wouldn’t even need to drive anywhere.  Since it’s generally expensive to stay in the airport, you can find hotels nearby that are usually half the price.

Do a quick Google Maps search – With technology where it is today, a website such as Google maps is a great place to search for hotels near your airport.  Simply type in your destination and search for businesses around that area.  In our case, we would want to search for lodging.  You’ll usually find a few hotels within a few miles.  I would recommend you don’t stay further than 15 miles because this would defeat the purpose of staying near the hotel.

Check a travel guide – If you’re old fashioned, that’s okay!  There are other places to look besides the Internet.  A simple city guide will have hotels that are nearby all major airports.  In the guides, it will usually list the numbers, and hotel name.  Simply call up the hotels and see what they are charging.  All hotels vary, so it doesn’t hurt to call more than one.

Finding an airport hotel isn’t that hard and you’re Internet savvy, you should find a hotel within minutes.  Remember to call at least three hotels before making the official booking.  It’s also important that you call well ahead of time because if you call at the last minute, you’ll probably find that the rooms are booked.  I would advise that you make the booking right when you book your airline tickets.
