If you and your family are planning a trip in the near future, your number one goal is to have fun, but I guarantee you that your ultimate goal is to save money in the long haul.  If this sounds like your plan, well good for you, I’m going to give you some tips on how you can save on your next vacation.

How are you going to travel?

The first question that you want to ask yourself is, “How am I going to travel?”  Is it going to be by plane?  train?  car?  Every way you take is going to be different, since you can save in every way.  For example, you can save on airline tickets by booking on particular days.  If you drive, you can save by using a gas credit card, etc.

Always look for coupon deals

Before you head out, and book your trip, there are some things that you need to do, and that is using coupon codes.  In today’s era with the Internet, there are so many ways to save.  Before you book anything like an airline ticket, car rental, hotel, etc, make sure you look for coupon codes to save anywhere from 1% to as much as 75%.

Try and book your hotel online

If you can, book your hotels online rather than in person.  If you’re taking a road trip, try to plan your hotels according to your routes.  With websites like Priceline, you can name your own price.  For instance, a few weeks ago, I was able to get a 3 star that was normally $98 for only $65.  It’s an awesome feature where you can haggle online with the hotels themselves.

Packages are your friend

If you’re going to fly, rent a car, and get a hotel, you will most likely want to book a package.  This is generally where your savings are at.  If you have no idea on where you want to go, or where you want to save, check out TravelZoo for amazing top 20 deals every Wednesday.  You can get package deals for as little as a couple hundred dollars per person!

Saving money on your vacation will take a little research and dedication.  As long as you look for deals, and coupons, you’ll have no problem saving money with your family and their vacation.vacations, cheap vacation, saving money, family
