Hueco Tanks State Historic Site -  This historic site is more than 860 acres!  This park is named for the large rock basins or “huecos” that have supplied water to this desert-like region for many centuries.  Here there is a lot to do including picnicking, camping, hiking, rock climbing, bird watching, nature study, viewing of prehistoric and historic pictographs, stargazing, slide shows, and guided tours.
