Having a stress free flightMost of us fly sometime in our lives, whether it’s a 4 hour flight or 18 hour flight, they can all become very tiresome and sometimes stressful.  If you’re worried about flying and being stressed out while you fly, I’m going to give you some tips that you can use to make the situation better for yourself and the people around you.

Know your airplane – Before you hop onto the airplane, you’re going to know what type you’re flying.  Hop online and see what kind of entertainment they are going to offer.  Are they are going to have in screen TV service, TVs on each seat, etc.  This will help you better understand what kind of entertainment you’re going to have.  The more entertainment you have, the less you’re going to think about the flight.

Get the airport early – Know what time you’re flying and try to get there 2 to 3 hours early.  You’ll never know how long the lines will be or if you’ll run into any problems.  The worst feeling in the world is being late for something or rushing.  Remember, an airplane is not going to wait for you.

Bring LOTS of entertainment – If you’re flying for 8 hours+, you’ll want to bring lots of entertainment.  As I already mentioned above, make sure that you know what the plane is offering.  If they are offering TV, you’re already on a good plane because this will give you something to do while flying.  Even if they do offer TVs, etc, make sure you bring your own things like a laptop, book, DVD player, etc.  The longer you can keep your mind off the flight, the better.

Get comfortable – When flying, don’t worry about what others are thinking about you.  Instead, wear whats comfortable for you.  If you find jogging pants and a T-shirt is comfortable then do it!  You don’t have to impress people while you’re flying.  As for sleeping, you’re probably going to sleep a little, especially if your flight is over 10 hours long.  I would recommend you look into cheaper airline pillows online before you fly.  I would advise you that you don’t buy them at the airport because you’re going to pay a lot more.

Bring snacks – Most airlines today are going to charge you for food  and drinks.  It never hurts to bring your own personal favorites like chips, cookies, etc.  Make sure you don’t bring too much because many people find themselves eating when they are bored!

Long flights generally aren’t that bad and neither is flying.  You have to make yourself comfortable and have as many things with you that can keep your mind off things.  If you can accomplish this, you’ll have a stress free flight.
