The weekend is going to come each and every week.  You’re going to find that it may be hard to get a whole week off from work and that’s okay!  If you’re looking to go somewhere for the weekend and you want to drive a few hours away, I wanted to give you some great ideas that you can use.

Now, depending on what state or country that you live in, these may not be applicable to your area.  Regardless, it should still give you a great idea though!

#1 Bed and Breakfast - These are all over the place.  They are either located in historic towns, or even by the water.  This is a nice place to getaway to when you’re looking to escape your everyday life schedule.

#2 The beach - Beaches are everywhere and you don’t need to be on the ocean.  Sure, you’re going to have to have nice weather, but if the weather is there, consider something like this.

#3 A casino – Casinos are everywhere and it’s a great thing to take advantage of.  Grab a hotel right on the campus and gamble your night away.  Eat a nice dinner and spend a nice night in the hotel room.

#4 Indoor water parks - Just about every state that I can think of has some sort of indoor water park.  These are usually attached to hotels.  Take advantage of one and bring the kids if you have them!

#5 Shopping trips - If you’re the one that tends to like to shop, find a great outlet mall area, or a bigger shopping mall.  Grab a hotel in the area.  Eat out, shop, and enjoy life!

#6 Amusement parks - Again, just about every state has an amusement park.  Even if it’s 4 hours away, this is a great time to get away, enjoy the rides, food, and more.

#7 Go downtown – Check out your downtown area.  It could be a great time to book a hotel downtown.  Explore the downtown area, head out to some shops, museums, or whatever else you may do.

#8 Parks and hiking – The last thing on my list is to simply head to a park.  Head to a hiking path, or a mountain.  Bring a picnic lunch and find a great resort / hotel that is near by.

Just use your imagination when you’re looking to take advantage of the weekend.  There are so many things that you can do!  As long as you’re creative, you can make your weekends a blast.
