While travelling, staying safe is one of the main concerns on any traveller’s mind. Depending on where you travel in the world will depend on how safe you really have to be. Let’s face it, if you’re staying in Florida, you can feel safer than somewhere in the middle of Mexico. In order to stay safe, it’s important that you follow a few safety tips to ensure that you remain 100% safe throughout the whole trip.
Confirm your whole trip
Just to be safe, it never hurts to confirm your whole trip. Call up the airlines, hotel, as well as the rental car company. You won’t want to show up at their doorstep and find out that they don’t have you in the system. This can be dangerous if you’re staying on a resort that’s next to nothing. Where would you go? It never hurts to confirm!
Leave the expensive stuff at home
When you travel, you shouldn’t bring your $5,000 ring or necklace. Instead, try and pack light and pack what you won’t worry about it if you do lose it. Let’s face it, airlines lose luggage all the time and you wouldn’t want all of your jewelry to be in that luggage, would you?
Try to use credit only
Depending on where you’re going, you won’t want to bring $1,000 in cash. In today’s era, most places do accept credit cards and by now, you know that credit cards are a lot safer than cash. I would recommend that you bring about $100 and use the ATM whenever you need to withdrawal funds.
Always lock your luggage
If you’re going to check in luggage, make sure that you get a small luggage lock so that your luggage can remain safe. You won’t want someone to carry your luggage way and simply unzip it and take what they please. Instead, there are very cheap locks online that can prevent people from stealing from you.
Lock your hotel door
It should always be a habit that you lock your hotel room door every time you’re in the room. Most hotels do have the little latch locks where no one could get in, even if they tried. If that still doesn’t make you feel safe enough, there are specialized hotel locks that you can get online that will prevent people from entering.
These are a few travel tips that you can use when you’re travelling across the world. Use these tips and look at the items I linked to ensure that you’re safe 100% of the time.
