Generally, when you go to the airport, the last thing travellers think about is where and how they are going to park.  What most fir time travellers don’t realize is that airport parking can be pretty costly if you’re going to go away for a week or so.  In order to save as many dollars possible, I’ve thought up of a few ways on how we all can save on airport parking.

Have someone drive you

Whether you get a friend or a relative nearby, call them up ahead of time and ask them if they can drop you off at the airport.  Before you call them, look around and see what airport parking companies are charging.  In exchange of your relatives or friends driving you, offer them about half of what you had to pay at the airport parking garages.  This will usually be about about five or ten dollars a day.

Look for coupons

Do a quick search in your local newspaper and see what kind of airport parking structures are around your airport.  You usually want to avoid parking at the airport itself seeing this is usually the most expensive route.  Once you a find a few places nearby, see if they offer coupons on their website or in the paper.  I know of a place nearby my airport that offers one free day with a minimum purchase of 3 days.

Using technology

If you’re a fan of technology, you might want to check and see what kind of options there are out there.  I found a great post I found out there showed you exactly how you can find great airport parking using your cellphone.  There’s always a great website online called http://www.findairportparking.com
