Are you getting ready to take your first airline flight?  If so, you may be a little nervous.  Some people love riding on a plane and others hate it and get sick.  Since most people either like it or they don’t it is up in the air for you.  There is no way of really knowing until you experience it for the first time.  Although you may not know if you like it until then, there are still some things to toss out there so you know what to expect.

Seating – Seating is just like you’d probably expect.  The bigger the plane the more seats per isle.  They are pretty close together just like they would be on a bus.  You get your own separate seat but you’re very close to the person next to you.  Also, you get the choice of choosing between an isle seat or a window seat.

Comfort – Most planes are pretty comfortable and have pretty nice seats.  For convenience you may want to get a pillow and a smaller blanket to make sure you don’t get too cold and you’re comfortable throughout the flight.

Take offs and landings – Depending on the pilot they may be good or bad.  They aren’t too bad but it always a good idea to chew some gum since your ears will continue to pop.  If you get sick easily, just sick back, relax, clear your mind and chew some gum!

Noise – The noise on an airplane isn’t too bad.  Yes, there is some but it’s not to the point where you can’t hear anything after.  Try to avoid sitting in the middle if you don’t want a lot of noise.  The propellers and engine to make the most noise which are located in the middle most of the time.

Views – The views for the most part are amazing.  Everything is the size of a dot.  Whether you go in the day or at night the views are great!  During the day you get to see so many bodies of water, mountains, grasslands and so on that you may never of thought existed.  Also, at night the view is nice because all the lights make a really neat view, especially the big cities!

Overall airplane flights aren’t too bad.  Just keep in mind some of the ideas above so you have some idea of what to expect.  Also, bring some source of entertainment if you have a flight over two hours.  It is always a good distraction especially if you get sick easily!
