Airline Flight Reservations for Beginners
by: Tom Tessin

If you’ve never flown before or you’re just a rookie at making flight reservations, don’t worry, there are many others out in the world that don’t have the slightest clue when it comes to making their reservations with an airline.  The important part to remember when it comes to making a reservation is to make sure you can get the reservation for as cheap as possible.  I’ll guide you with a few steps to ensure you that you are able to get the best flight deal possible.

Always book through the airline itself

If you’re a fan of purchasing things on the internet, you may have heard of popular travel websites like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.  The thing about these websites is that they usually carry a travel fee.  This means that every time you make a purchase through them, they are going to charge you a little fee.  We all have to stay in business, right?

If you’re not going to be loyal to an airline, simply hop onto one of those websites like Orbitz and see what tickets are available for your particular flight.  When you find an airline you like, simply go to their main website and purchase the tickets from there.  Some airlines guarantee that you can save money when you reserve your flight through them.

Make sure you’re organized

Once you book that airline ticket, make sure you have your tip figured out.  You’ll need to know how to move around the airport you’re landing in and how you’re going to leave.  You’re going to ask yourself how you’re going to leave.  This can be from a rental car, a relative or friend, transportation, etc.  If you’re going to rent a car, make sure you rent a car as soon as you book your trip.  It’s always helpful to book a rental near the airport so that it’s more convenient for you.

Print out everything

If you purchase your ticket online, make sure that you print out all of the information they give you.  In today’s world, most airlines don’t’ send you a hard ticket.  Instead, you can either check yourself in at the airport or work with one of them.  If anything goes wrong, you’ll have some evidence with you to show that you have purchased your ticket.  While this rarely happens, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Reserving your airline tickets for the first time isn’t a hard process at all.  The fact is that you should be saving your money wherever you can and the internet is a great way to find out how you can save your money n tickets.  Once you make those reservations, make sure you know all of the airport’s guidelines when it comes to carryon luggage and what you can and can’t bring on a plane.  This will make it easier for you and the staff.  If you do your research properly, you should be able to find the best deal around, making your trip an easy ride.
